    AMC Introduction

    Hello, and welcome to The Australian Magna Club.

    This is a popular community where Mitsubishi Magna, Verada, Diamante, or 380 owners and enthusiasts can get together.

    By being a member of AMC, posting in our forums and attending any club events, you agree to our rules, terms & conditions.

    The AMC Management Team is made up of volunteer members, although we try our best to make this an enjoyable community, we may make mistakes and can not be available or online all the time. Our aim is to manage the club and forum to retain a friendly environment where members can get together as well as obtain quick concise and accurate information and assistance when needed.

    Although this is a car forum and we expect most of our discussion will be related to automotive topics, we also recognise we are a club made up of individual members who may wish to discuss 'off topic' subjects. To keep the forums relevant and informative, we request all general Chit Chat and off topic discussions are held in the 'Discussion Sections’ such as the General Magna Chat or Members Lounge forums.

    Unfortunately, there are some members who disrespect this and ruin the experience for others. The following rules are provided to ensure, as much as possible, that a level understanding and expectation is maintained on how this club and it’s forums operate, and thus improve the quality of the forums for all.

    Membership with this site/forum and participation in club events assumes your agreement with these rules.
    Breaches of these rules may result in deleted threads/posts, warnings, infractions or temporary bans.
    In more severe cases, the member may be permanently banned and details may be forwarded to their ISP’s.

    1. AMC Administration & Moderation
    The AMC Executive Team is comprised of the Administrators and Super Moderators.
    The AMC Management Team is comprised of all Administrators, Super Moderators, Moderators and State Representatives.

    1.1 Treatment of AMC Members.
    Disrespectful remarks or abuse towards the AMC Club or any member of the AMC Management Team will not be tolerated.
    Abuse, Bullying and Stalking of AMC Members will not be tolerated.

    1.2 AMC Executive Team Authority
    The AMC Executive Team reserve the right to warn, infract or ban any user as they see fit.
    The AMC Executive Team reserve the right to delete, edit, move or close any posts or threads as they see fit.

    1.3 AMC Management Team Authority
    The AMC Management Team reserve the right to take any reasonable action necessary with members not abiding to club rules or participating in inappropriate or illegal behaviour.

    1.4 Malicious Intent
    Any attempt to spam advertisements, attack or hack the forum will result in an immediate ban without warning.
    Any intent to place the Club and/or forum into disrepute will not be tolerated.
    Posting links to websites containing a virus, malware, adware, etc. will not be tolerated.

    1.5 AMC Member Rebuttal.
    If you feel you or another member may have been warned, infracted or banned without proper reason, please respond by PM or contact the AMC Management Team and politely state your reasons or request more information. This will then be discussed and collectively decided by the AMC Executive Team.
    If you respond in an abusive, or aggressive manner, you may not get a reply and/or your ban may be extended or made permanent.

    1.6 AMC Rule Changes.
    Please assist us to keep the AMC Club, Website and Forums a great place for all.
    If you feel any rule is unfair or needs amendment, please contact a member of the AMC Management Team or send an email to admin@aussiemagna.com
    The AMC Executive Team (Admin/Mods) will then discuss the issue or proposed change and agree on the appropriate action (if any).

    2. Forum Content
    This is a family safe site and may have members younger than 18 years old.
    Some members access this site in public areas or at work locations.
    Our members come from diverse cultural, language, social, economic and religious backgrounds.
    Therefore forum content and images must adhere to some common sense rules and members must respect other members through responsible behaviour.
    Any member who feels a thread or post breaches these rules is encouraged to contact us through the “Report Post” facility. The AMC Executive team will then decide if further action is required.

    2.1 Inappropriate Content
    Posts containing inappropriate content or links to inappropriate content/websites are not tolerated and action will be taken.
    Inappropriate Content includes any text, images or links that are reasonably considered by the AMC Executive Team to be abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, racist, profane, obscene, vulgar, sexually oriented, pornographic, knowingly false or inaccurate, defamatory, invasive of a person’s privacy or otherwise violates laws applicable within Australia.
    This applies to any text, image or link contained within this website/forum, including forum posts, private messages (PMs), social group discussions, signatures, profiles and profile visitor messages.

    2.2 Debates and Arguments
    Healthy and respectful debating is allowed as long as the debate remains constructive and does not degrade into personal abuse or attack.
    Engaging in or provoking an argument which is unhelpful, negative or abusive is not permitted.
    The moderators will not act on personal opinion, belief or disagreements, but will act on personal abuse and provocation.
    Please be mindful and consider your post carefully when starting or responding to debates. Especially controversial threads such as Holden vs Ford vs Mitsubishi, Political or Religious debates as these often lead to heated arguments and personal abuse.

    2.3 Illegal behaviour
    Any discussion about illegal actions, consumption of illegal products, or selling/purchasing illegal products is forbidden. This includes downloading content illegally.
    Discussing car modifications which may be possible for certification by an engineer is permitted.
    The AMC Management Team reserves the right to report illegal behaviour to appropriate authorities at AMC Management Team’s discretion.

    2.4 Swear Filter
    Bypassing the AMC Forum swear filter is forbidden, we are a family site and encourage friendly & respectful communication.
    Do not avoid the Swear Filter by altering the formatting or spelling of the offending word. Profanity which exceeds reasonable levels, as determined by the AMC Executive Team, will be moderated.

    2.5 Copyright
    No copyrighted material is to be posted unless the copyright is owned by you or you have obtained the required approvals and permissions.
    All images of members' cars are the sole property of the owner of the vehicle, or the person who took the photo. Using these images without permission will be considered a breach of copyright.

    2.6 Images
    Images posted in or linked from our forums must follow the same rules as text. ie. No inappropriate content (See rule 2.1 for Inappropriate Content). This is a family website and some members may be accessing the forum in public or work areas.
    To save AMC’s bandwidth please use an online image host such as Photobucket or Imageshack to host your pics.
    Images excessive in size will be deleted.

    2.7 YouTube & other video links
    Links or embedded videos from video sites such as YouTube are allowed on the condition the video is in direct relation to the original post of the thread and meets one or more of the following criteria:
    • Video is needed to help a member diagnose an issue.
    • Video is needed to provide a solution to a member’s issue.
    • Video is directly related to the thread topic and can give a point of view that can not be done by a normal text post.
    No inappropriate content. (See rule 2.1 for Inappropriate Content).
    All unrelated, funny, or "hey check this out" video links or embedded videos are not permitted. Unrelated video links are all to be posted in the YouTube thread: here.

    Rule 2.8 Ebay and other online classifieds
    Links to online classifieds such as ebay or carsales are allowed on the condition the link is directly related to the original post of the thread and is needed to answer the original post or help a member diagnose/solve a problem.
    All unrelated, funny, or "hey check this out" classified links are not permitted.
    Unrelated classified links and discussion are all to be posted in the Online Classifieds/ebay thread: here.

    2.9 For Sale & Wanted To Buy
    Please read the detailed For Sale Rules & Guidelines before posting or responding to For Sale or Wanted To Buy threads. (See Rule 6 below).
    Summary:
    • Members are required to have been registered to the forum for a minimum of 3 calendar months, with a minimum of 50 non-spam posts, before they are allowed to create a For Sale thread.
    • The AMC Standard Templates may be used as a guide for For Sale and Wanted To Buy threads.
    • For Sale and Wanted To Buy posts are not permitted in any other forum section.
    • No illegal items, selling for others, or excessive spam.

    2.10 Advertising
    While discussion on commercial products is allowed, no advertising of commercial products or business trade is allowed without prior approval through the AMC Sponsorship program. This applies to posted text, images, videos, links, signatures, avatar’s and custom user titles.
    Only members and businesses approved as AMC Sponsors may post commercial advertising and products for sale as authorised, based on their level of sponsorship.
    (See Rule 6.16 for more information on Sponsorship)

    2.11 Spam Threads
    Posting of threads that have no purpose other than to annoy, flame or provoke negative reaction will not be tolerated.
    Chain letters are not permitted and are considered Spam Threads.
    Threads containing knowingly fraudulent information submitted to cause a ‘stir’ or negative reaction are not permitted and are considered Spam Threads.

    2.12 Sound Advice
    Intentional bad or malicious advice is not permitted.
    This rule’s purpose is to forbid a member from knowingly giving false or malicious advice.
    This rule is not intended to cover differences of opinion between members.

    2.13 Privacy
    Do not post information that may be considered a violation of another person’s privacy. (ie. Phone Number, Address, Bank details, Financial details, etc.).
    Photos of other members and other member’s cars may sometimes inadvertently have included identifying information such as a Number Plate. If the member who owns the car wishes this information to be removed, they are to contact the member who posted the information/photo, who will then edit or delete the information immediately. Failure to do so will be dealt with by the AMC Executive Team.

    2.14 Multiple Threads
    Posting multiple threads with the same query or content is not permitted. One or all of these threads will be closed or deleted without warning or notification.

    3. Account Management

    3.1 Duplicate accounts
    Duplicate accounts (User Names) are not permitted.
    If you have been banned or suspended from our forums, you are not permitted to open a new account and continue to participate in the forums. Doing this will result in a longer or permanent ban.

    3.2 Account use by another person.
    People are not permitted to use another member’s account. A member’s User Name is to be used by one person.
    If an account is being used by more than one person, that account may be banned.
    If someone uses another member’s account with or without their permission, the offending member/s will receive an infraction and/or be banned.

    3.3 Username Changes
    User Name changes are permitted at Admin discretion and if you meet the following criteria;
    • You are a current year donating member
    • You do not have over three active infraction points
    • You have your old username as your custom title for a minimum of 3 months (eg. "Formerly [oldusername]").
    If you wish to change your username, please contact one of the AMC Administrators.

    3.4 Custom User Title
    Custom User Titles are the user created text between the member’s User Name and Avatar.
    Custom User Titles are:
    • Only available to Donating Members who donated $10 or more.
    • Not permitted to contain a website link or any advertising or promotional text.
    • Not permitted to contain inappropriate content. (See rule 2.1 for Inappropriate Content).
    • Not permitted to contain the words banned, sponsor, admin, moderator, president or other words that depict a title that is not relevant to your membership.

    3.5 Avatars
    Avatars are:
    • To remain within the default size parameters as defined by the AMC Forum.
    • Not permitted to contain a website link or any advertising or promotional text/images.
    • Not permitted to contain inappropriate content. (See rule 2.1 for Inappropriate Content).

    3.6 Signatures
    Signatures are:
    • Not permitted to contain a website link or any advertising or promotional text.
    • Not permitted to contain inappropriate content. (See rule 2.1 for Inappropriate Content).

    3.7 Profile Picture & Information
    Profiles are:
    • Not permitted to contain any advertising or promotional text/images.
    • Not permitted to contain inappropriate content. (See rule 2.1 for Inappropriate Content).

    5. Social groups
    5.1 Social groups may be created by any member.
    5.2 Social groups are the responsibility of the group’s owner.
    5.3 The standard AMC Rules apply within all Social Groups.
    5.4 When joining a Social Group, please consider the group owner’s wishes regarding membership and content.
    5.5 Social Group owners may apply their own group sub rules to govern the individual social group, however the AMC Rules override any Social Group sub-rules. Social Group sub-rules may be overridden or edited by the AMC Executive Team.
    5.6 Failure to comply with Social Group Rules may result in message/discussion deletion, removal from the group and/or possible report to the AMC Executive Team for further consideration.

    6. Sales Yard Rules (For Sale, Auction & Wanted To Buy)

    As an alternate option, we encourage the use of the 'AMC Buy, Swap and Sell' Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/amcbuyswapsell/.

    Individual member's use of the Sales Yard forums is at the discretion of the AMC Executive Team.

    As a standard member who has been registered for less than 3 months and/or has less than 50 posts, you have the following rights:
    • Not allowed to sell items on AMC. (Not allowed to post For Sale threads)
    • Not allowed to sell items in signature, profile, avatar or Custom User Title.
    • Allowed to buy goods in the For Sale forum.
    • Allowed to post WTB threads in the Wanted To Buy forum.

    As a standard member who has been registered for 3 or more months and has 50 or more posts, you have the following rights:
    • Not allowed to sell items in signature, profile, avatar or Custom User Title.
    • Not allowed to sell multiple items for profit.
    • Allowed to sell a reasonable level of personal goods in the For Sale forum.
    • Allowed to buy goods in the For Sale forum.
    • Allowed to post WTB threads in the Wanted To Buy forum.

    AMC offers various levels of sponsorship, for other ventures you may have. These may be viewed HERE. Please PM a member of the AMC Executive Team for further details.

    6.1 Minimum 50 Post/3 Month Rule
    Only members who have been registered to the forum for a minimum of 3 calendar months, with a minimum of 50 non-spam posts, are allowed to create a For Sale thread.
    Do not spam to get to 50 posts or you will find your stay very short at AMC.
    At the discretion of the AMC Management Team, current year Donating Members who can be authenticated by the AMC Management Team, may have the 3 month/50 post waiting period waived.

    6.2 For Sale Activity.
    No Wanted or Sale activity is permitted outside of the Sales Yard forums.

    6.3 Thread Titles
    Thread Titles must adhere to the format: [STATE] THREAD-STYLE: Brief item description
    eg. [VIC] FS: Clear Indicators.
    STATE = Select from the forum's preset range when you start a new FS/WTB thread.
    THREAD-STYLE = Select from the following:
    • AUC (Auction)
    • FREE (Free items)
    • FS (For Sale)
    • WTB (Wanted To Buy).

    6.4 For Sale Template
    The For Sale Template may be used as a guide for For Sale (FS) threads and Free or giveaway items (FREE).
    The For Sale Template is pre-populated in new For Sale threads.
    All FS threads must have a fixed selling price.

    6.5 Auction Template
    The Auction Template may be used as a guide for Auction (AUC) threads

    6.6 Wanted To Buy Template
    The Wanted To Buy Template may be used as a guide for WTB threads.
    The Wanted To Buy Template is pre-populated in new WTBthreads.

    6.7 Illegal Items
    All items must be legitimate and of legal origin.
    All items must be legally able to be sold in Australia and the applicable State.

    6.8 No Excessive Spam
    Although we are a social club, the For Sale/Wanted forums are a place to buy and sell, not for spam or off-topic chat.
    Excessive spam will be deleted. Members posting excessive spam may lose their permissions to the For Sale forum.

    6.9 Derogatory Posts & Undermining Value
    Derogatory posts directed at either the seller or their item are not permitted. This includes anything which undermines the item’s worth. Every seller has the right to try to sell their item, without hassle, at the price they are asking; it is up to the seller and no one else to determine the sale price and to adjust the price if needed.
    If a member has any concerns regarding the legality of the item being sold or possible omitted information considered to be critical to the items worth or condition, please use the report post function and the AMC sales yard Dispute Resolution Officer will commence appropriate steps to determine what actions (if any) need to be implemented. The resolution actions may include for example, a request to the seller to include the omitted information, the For Sale thread being withdrawn or no further action required.

    6.10 Thread ‘Bumping’
    You cannot make any post in your own FS/WTB thread for at least 72 hours following the previous post (regardless of whether it was posted by you or another member). The only exception is if you're answering a question asked in the thread. For Donating Members, Sponsors and members of the Management Team, this duration is reduced to 48 hours.

    6.11 Sales are Final
    Sales are final unless agreed otherwise by both parties.
    If you, the buyer, agree to buy an item, you must complete the purchase within the agreed conditions, unless the item is significantly different to the item advertised for sale.
    If you, the seller, place an item up for sale - you must sell it to the agreed buyer and complete the sale within the agreed conditions.

    6.12 Acknowledgment of Purchase
    When you post in a For Sale thread with terms such as "dibs", "mine", "I'll take it", "sold" or any other variant, it is considered that you have the available money and are ready to proceed with the purchase, as described and for the advertised price.
    If you wish to offer a different price or require further information, then ask all questions before committing to buy the item.
    Once committed, if you fail to go through with the purchase, without proper reason, you will be subject to the forum infraction process.

    6.13 Auctions (AUC)
    If you, the buyer, bid and win, you must buy the item unless it is significantly different to the item advertised for sale.
    If you, the seller, place an item up for auction - you must sell it to the winning bidder who meets the auction criteria.
    The Auction end date/time can not be changed.
    Unless otherwise stated, the Auction end time refers to the timezone of the Seller.
    The winning bidder of an auction thread is the last/highest bid (at or above the Auction Start price) before the nominated close time.
    ie. If the auction close time is 5:00pm then the winning bid is the last/highest bid with a Forum timestamp of 4:59pm AEST (AEDT when applicable).
    If the initial sale falls through, the seller may decide to offer the item to the next highest bidder (who bid before the auction closed) or close this Auction and recommence a new For Sale or Auction thread.
    Auctions that closed while the Forum was unavailable are considered unsold/void and may be restarted by the Seller after approval from the AMC Executive Team.
    Auction Bids of ill-nature will not be tolerated.

    6.14 Selling for others
    Members selling items on AMC must be the legal owner of the item being sold.
    Selling on behalf of, or on selling of items is not permitted.
    The only exception to this rule is for immediate family and partners. In this case, the AMC Member must be authorised by the seller/owner, to act as the sole/primary contact for the item being sold, to be responsible for all questions, sales inquiries, sale negotiations and after sales issues (if any).

    6.15 Sponsorship & Group Buys
    The For Sale forum is for private sales only.
    AMC offers various options for sponsorship, these have progressive levels of advertising options and sale quantity authorities based on the Sponsorship Level selected. These Sponsorship Levels are detailed HERE.
    If you wish to advertise or sell a product or service for profit, please contact an AMC Sponsorship Coordinator - Mal (Madmagna) or Graeme (GRDPuck) – to discuss your proposal.

    Group Buys must be approved by the AMC Administration Team.

    If you have a Sponsorship idea or Group Buy opportunity, and wish to gauge the potential interest, please contact a member of the AMC Moderation or Administration Team. Your request will be considered, and if approved, you will be given permission to create a thread to ‘float’ your idea/proposal to the AMC members

    6.16 AMC For Sale Feedback thread.
    The 'For Sale Feedback COLOURS!!' thread is set up to capture buy&sell transaction feedback.
    • Only one post per member per transaction. This is not a debate forum.
    • If you feel you have received unwarranted feedback, use the Report Post button and politely explain the problem.
    • Positive feedback: Display the member’s user name in BLUE.
    • Negative feedback: Display the member’s user name in RED.
    Please Include:
    • Were goods received and as described by the seller.
    • Timeframe for delivery
    • Communication
    • Would you recommend this member to others.

    6.17 Car Sales
    The sale of Vehicles (Cars, Bikes, etc.) on AMC must be accompanied with the following additional information in the first post to allow prospective buyers to perform appropriate checks if required.

    6.18 Pets and Livestock
    Due to the many legalities and other considerations, Pets and Livestock are not permitted to be sold through the AMC forums.

    6.19 For Sale Guidelines
    The following guidelines are here to make everyone's shopping as simple and enjoyable as possible. Please do your best to adhere to them.
    • Please provide as much detail as possible.
    • A current photo of the actual item is strongly encouraged.
    • Please try to be as accurate as possible. We are all human and may make a mistake, however be aware that inaccuracies may result in the need to refund a member if appropriate.
    • Please provide a means of contact for prospective buyers.
    • At all times please observe and adhere to the seller's wishes. eg. If he/she does not want private messages - don’t send PMs.
    • If you need to work out postage costs, you can visit the Australia Post Calculator.
    • Once a price is agreed and the item is considered sold…
    - Update the initial post stating it’s sold.
    - Send the seller/buyer an alternative method of contact (eg. mobile, email, msn) in case the AMC Forum becomes unavailable.
    • AMC recommends buyers and sellers take appropriate measures to buy & sell safely. This could include measures such as...
    - Ask questions before agreeing to buy an item.
    - Check the vehicle's history (Financial & VIN/Registration checks)
    - Check the vehicle's current condition before purchase (if possible, consider a pre-purchase check by a mechanic or similar service).
    - Use Registered Mail or COD for items being sent via mail.
    - Use Postal Insurance for high priced items.
    - Ensure items are packaged safely to avoid loss/damage in transit.
    - Keep records of all PM/email/MSN conversations/agreements and financial transactions."

    7. Club Events

    7.1 Official AMC Events
    Official events are events organised by the AMC Management Team (State Reps, etc.).
    The thread title is to be prefixed with ‘[STATE] ~ OFFICIAL ~ ’. eg. [QLD] ~ OFFICIAL ~ Betoota Pub Cruise - 31 April
    These events are organised by the AMC Management Team (usually the State Representatives.).
    Other members may organise an Official AMC Event, but must gain approval from the State Representatives and the AMC Executive Team beforehand.
    The event organiser has their own personal authority to contact the applicable authorities if needed. This action is the individual’s responsibility at their discretion.

    7.2 Unofficial Events
    Unofficial events are events organised by general AMC Members.
    The thread title is to be prefixed with ‘[STATE] ~ UNOFFICIAL ~ ’. eg. [WA] ~ UNOFFICIAL ~ Big Bell Hotel Cruise - 31 April
    It is the responsibility of the event organiser to ensure the event does not conflict with an official event.
    It is the responsibility of the event organiser to ensure the event is managed to the best of their ability and Club rules are observed.
    The event organiser has their own personal authority to contact the applicable authorities (Police, etc.) if needed. This action is the individual’s responsibility.
    Whilst AMC encourages members to consider participating in Unofficial events, the events are not the responsibility of AMC.

    7.3 Combined Club Events
    If an event is being organised in conjunction with another Club, then this information must be stated in the event information.

    7.4 Illegal activity
    Illegal activity and ‘Hoon’ behaviour will not be tolerated on any AMC Club Event, Meet, or Cruise.
    If an AMC Management Team member or the AMC Member organising the Club Event feels an event participant or a group of participants are acting illegal or ‘hoonish’, they have the right to ask that person to leave and/or call the Police, without any club repercussions.

    7.5 Event Disclaimer
    The AMC Club, AMC Management Team and affiliates are not responsible for any loss, injury or an individual’s behaviour or actions. Each participating person at a Club Event is responsible for their own actions.

    7.6 AMC Event Guidelines/Expectations
    • Only say you will attend if you actually intend on attending.
    • Please update the event organiser or applicable thread if you are no longer able to attend.
    • Check the event details regularly and before an event.
    • Ensure you are aware of the event’s prerequisites (if any) such as expected duration, costs, dress code, required footwear, etc.
    • Follow the event organiser’s advice and directions.
    • Cruises will have a lead car. Do not pass this lead car.
    • If you get stuck or fall behind on a cruise, do not speed to catch up. Follow the directions and meet up with the cruise participants at the next checkpoint.
    • Drive within your limits. This includes the limits of your car and the road conditions. No cruise will include any ‘racing’ activity unless at an approved and legal racing venue.
    • Do not travel too close behind the car in front of you.
    • Ensure you have a full tank of fuel before attending a Club cruise.
    • As much as possible, ensure your car is in a safe and reliable condition.
    • Be friendly to other members and do not contribute to behaviour that may reflect negatively on the Club’s reputation.

    8. The Pub (available to Donating Members only)
    The most important AMC Pub Rules can be found in The Pub (see the blackboard), however, for those still sober enough for further reading (yes, both of you)...
    The below Pub Rules are a collective result of the Pub proposal thread as discussed by the AMC Donating Members.
    All threads in 'The Pub' must use the forum set prefix [NSFW].

    Acceptable:
    Humorous pics & jokes (without being degrading to members) with racist, sexist, religious, minorities, illness, etc. content.
    Bypassing the swear filter (swear words in images & altered text)
    Minor illegal items such as discussing illegal car modifications. (members to take advice from this section at their own stupidity & risk)
    Minor illegal items such as burnouts, 'hooning', etc. includes pics & media such as youtube (members not to be named unless self-named)
    Nudity/Sexy Pics with no private parts showing. (so boobs & bums okay - similar to what's on free-to-air TV).
    Drug references (also see Unacceptable section below)
    Discussions and links to topics covered by news & current affair programs (which may be too topical or violent for open forum sections).


    Unacceptable:
    Porn.
    Nudity/Sexy Pics with genital parts.
    Selling or promoting the sale of illegal items such as drugs.
    Major illegal activity such as child abuse, theft, rape, murder, cruelty to animals, etc.
    Any pics or promotion of children in inappropriate photos or situations. (eg, child abuse, pedophilia, etc.)
    Member arguments & personal abuse or bullying.
    Gory pics & graphic violence


    Also, like rule's 1 & 2 of Fight Club...
    What's said in the Pub stays in The Pub !!!
